With a vertical drop of 1,000 meters, the flying site of the Vallouise Pelvoux ski resort is an amazing location for winter paragliding. Offering panoramic views over the Vallouise valley, Mount Pelvoux, and the iconic peaks of the Écrins National Park, the flight is truly spectacular.
Take-off and flying are done on skis, and it’s child’s play! You simply glide forward on your skis, and your feet will leave the snow within seconds. And just like that, you’re in the air—comfortably seated in your harness until you gently slide back onto your skis for landing.
Depending on the conditions, it is quite common to observe wildlife such as mountain goats. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot birds of prey like the Vultures!
The Puy Saint Vincent ski resort, with a vertical drop of 900 meters (slightly shorter than Vallouise -Pelvoux), offers a beautiful panorama of the valley and makes for a great flight to get started with paragliding.
The take-off, at the top of the Lauze chairlift, is located near the top of the resort. We will fly over the slopes of the ski area, landing at Puy Saint Vincent 1400.
The flight is done with skis on your feet, and the take-off is quite steep and impressive. If you are a bit apprehensive about taking off, it is better to choose the Vallouise Pelvoux site.
